Mphumi Ndlangisa's wines are special. He is one the few Zulu winemakers that exists in South Africa, and his approach to his winemaking has always been in the 'natural' vein. Low intervention, organic fruit, with very little (if any) additives.

Two of Mphumi's Syrahs are now available in the U.K. Both made the same way, but coming from different appellations and soil types. And so ultimately, this is an exercise in terroir.

Stellenbosch is the engine room of the South African wine trade. There is A LOT of wine produced here. Vineyards stretch for as far as the eye can see. But there are also some of the most important wineries and estates situated here too, so it isn't only just about quantity, but quality too.

The fruit for this cuvée is grown in clay and granite soils, and the microclimate here is slightly warmer in comparison to the Franschhoek Syrah. Again, the fruit is wholebunch fermented and pressed to old oak for ageing.
